Optoisolators provide electrical isolation between two circuits by using light to transfer information across the isolation barrier. This protection is especially useful in noisy and other hazardous environment. The VO3052-X007T is an optoisolator device with a triac and SCR output. The product features a 6-pin plastic DIP package and an operating temperature range from -40 to +100°C.
The main application fields of the VO3052-X007T are in the area of electric control, industrial control devices, communications and data processing systems, home automation applications, measuring instruments and line interface equipment.
The device works without contact and provides galvanic isolation between the input and the output and improves system safety. The triac and SCR output offers optimal performance in applications such as control of loads, dimmers, regulators, contactors or inverters. The device is capable of controlling alternating current AC up to 80mA and direct current DC up to 50mA.
The working principle of the device is based on the use of a photovoltaic light-sensitive module, which is composed of an infrared IR light-emitting diode LED and a phototransistor receiver TR. The LED irradiates its controlled light beam on the TR and when the LED is blocked, the TR transfers the signal to the output device, which is either a triac or SCR.
The VO3052-X007T features tight coupling between input and output. The light-sensitive module has a large optical isolation distance of up to 5000VRMS and a high speed switching time of 10µS It also includes an LED driver circuit, which allows for a wide input voltage ranging from 5V to 30V.
In addition, the device comes with over-voltage protection, over-current protection, and EMI suppression. This ensures reliable operation in harsh environment and ensures long product life. In summary, the VO3052-X007T offers improved safety and extended protection in a variety of applications.
