An increase in these two parameters results in an increase in the resistances of the built-in PTC element in the device, limiting further current flow and protecting the circuit from possible damage due to an overcurrent event. Once the applied current falls to normal levels, the thermal fuse remains in a current limiting state.

An optional built-in active current-interrupting feature provides an additional level of protection to the VTP175DUF, by instantly disconnecting to protect the rest of the system from sudden power spikes. This feature eliminates the need for extra control circuitry in the application design.

The VTP175DUF PTC Resettable Fuses are also capable of self-resetting at a lower current level than the initially applied over-current, resulting in self-adjusting protection. Additionally, most of these devices are equipped with various mounting options for easy integration into different applications.

The VTP175DUF PTC Resettable Fuse has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C, and an operating life of >3000 cycles typically. It also features a fast time-to-trip rate, which enables the device to protect the connected circuit from any transient power spikes in a timely and efficient manner.
