W25Q128JVBIM TR is a custom designed memory (non-volatile) chip designed by Winbond Electronics Corporation and adapted to a wide range of application fields. The W25Q128JVBIM TR is a NOR Flash memory chip with a capacity of 16 megabytes (128-megabit), and it’s organized as a sequence of 16 sets of 8-bit memory elements, called buffers. It also features an asynchronous interface, 28-pin configuration, 1.7 - 3.6 volt Vcc, 8 Mhz clock rate, 1 KB page size, and a minimum write cycle time of 12 μs. The W25Q128JVBIM TR memory chip has numerous features, including Fast Read, Write with reset, sector/subsector protection and powering up/down without loss of information. The device also has an option for Automatic ECC and Automatic Read or Write Support, which enables the user to access the device without causing any corruption or data loss. In addition, it offers 8KB and 32K sectors for easy addressability and protection, and has a data protection pin (RST n).The W25Q128JVBIM TR memory chip operates on a single power source, with a maximum clock frequency of 8 MHz, allowing for significant read and write access time. The data is organized as 16Kbytes (128kbits) of 8-bit memory elements organized as a sequence of multiple pages.The device supports three types of write operations: single byte, write with reset and sector write operations.The single byte write operations involve programming a single byte of data at a time, while write with reset operations require that all or part of the data in a single page be re-written. The sector write operations allow for a full page write or a number of sub-pages, with a minimum of four bytes each being re-written in one command.The entire process of write operations is triggered with a write enable command, followed by the "Write with reset" command for data rewrite. The sector write operations take a minimum of twelve microseconds for performing a full page write operation.The W25Q128JVBIM TR also has a number of additional features, such as its multi-chip protect system. This system allows the programming of the device to be protected against write and erase operations. It also offers a programmable check sum on the contents of a sector or sub-sector, which ensures data integrity.The in system programmability of the chip is guaranteed by the application of the Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) circuit. This circuit incorporates a reset pin input and two status signals, that together provide the user with the ability to control the chip when it is embedded in a circuit or system. The W25Q128JVBIM TR is a highly efficient memory device, designed for embedded applications.
