W25Q16DVDAIG is a type of SPI Serial Flash, which can bring advantages in terms of both high amplifier and low power consumption. It is often used for commercial, industrial, automotive and even medical applications.

It features 16Mbytes of high-density non-volatile memory and offers bandwidths of up to 3.2Gbps. W25Q16DVDAIG has 2Mbit write/erase cycle and a maximum 5.0V write voltage. The core of W25Q16DVDAIG SPI Serial Flash is made up of a memory array and a controller/buffer block along with an EEPROM controller. It supports 125MHz single, dual and quad-SPI mode operation and offer a wide range of benefits such as ultra-low power consumption, flexible configuration, high programming speeds and low-power erase.

Most notably, W25Q16DVDAIG is a universal application for the most applications. It gives the users the ability to store valuable information such as operating data, customer profiles, and software code on the flash device rather than relying on slower and more expensive DRAM or NANDs. Working Principle:

The W25Q16DVDAIG has a dual-ported memory array and a small controller/buffer block on its core. The controller/buffer block aids in control of the memory array while also providing maximum flexibility and low-power erase. It also supports data capture so that image data can be easily routed through W25Q16DVDAIG. The flash elements of the device are connected to programmable logic blocks. When a command is received from the host, the logic block will communicate with the memory cells and decrypt the desired instruction. Using standard SPI protocol, the logic blocks can send the data from the attached flash array to the controller/buffer block. The data will then be routed to the outputs for further processing. This effectively allows the controller/buffer block to control the data flow from the flash array to the peripherals.

The controller/buffer block also consists of a user-programmable digital logic block that is capable of programming logic operations such as AND, OR, and XOR operations. The logic block is implemented in an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) that is designed to allow the user to define the logic operations that are required. This allows the user to customize their application specific functions and optimize performance. The logic block also offers embedded non-volatile memory that eliminates the need for external EEPROMs.
