The WBR275-75A aluminium electrolytic capacitor, produced by WECE, is no exception and is used in many places ranging from industrial electronics, automobiles, and phones to consumer-based electronics.

The WBR275-75A aluminium electrolytic capacitor is capable of storing a great deal of electricity - typically 10 to 2000 times that of ceramic capacitors - in a very small unit – the WBR275-75A measures just 15 x 15 x 15mm. The WBR275-75A aluminium electrolytic capacitor is composed of a dielectric of aluminium oxide layer, a winding (made of aluminium foil), and a spindle which allows for electrical contact and an electrolyte, typically an organic solvent. In operation, a voltage is provided to the electrode plates inside the capacitor, which causes the dielectric to expand and creates a barrier. The resulting built-in electric field induces a charge separation across the dielectric, which creates a capacitance. The capacitance increases with an increase in applied voltage and the stored energy in the capacitor is released when the voltage is reduced back to its initial level.

The WBR275-75A aluminium electrolytic capacitor has a peculiar anode structure, which enhances its long-lasting performance. The anode is composed of a thick layer of aluminium foil which is etched or brazed to the inside of the capacitor. This aluminium layer is further oxidized, forming an anode oxide layer. The etching process also increases the surface area thereby increasing the capacitance, and the brazed structure prevents the anode from being detached in the presence of mechanical shocks and vibration.
