WLNJ-30TSLE application field and working principle

The WLNJ-30TSLE series snap action limit switch is a low cost snap action switch with a wide range of applications.

This snap action limit switch is used to monitor the positions of sliding, rotating, and lifting mechanisms, providing feedback to a controller such as a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). It also could be used for monitoring of moving parts in process automation.

It is designed for OEM applications, and is ideal for environmental and harsh conditions, as it has a robust construction and IP65 degree of protection.

Working Principle

WLNJ-30TSLE snap action limit switches are switch contacts that open or close when a mechanism reaches a predetermined location. The mechanism is typically a simple spring-loaded lever arm called the “actuator”. The actuation force can be provided by a magnet, plunger, cam, or push-button.

When the actuation force is applied, the contacts of the limit switch are opened or closed depending on the design of the switch. The contacts are either normally open, normally closed, or both.

The actuation force is necessary to create an electrical signal that can be used by the control system, allowing it to monitor the positions of moving parts.
