Working Principle

The X5163PIZ-2.7A operates on a dual power-on and power-off delay circuit. It has two voltage detection elements that work together with complementary Schmitt trigger circuits which monitor high and low voltage levels to monitor power-on and power-off signals. When the supply voltage drops below the threshold value, the power-on delay circuit senses the under-voltage and sends a signal to the power-on protection circuit with a turn-on time between 70μs to 1ms to prevent any sudden suppression to the system.

Meanwhile, the power-off delay circuit can also detect when the supply voltage is above the threshold value and it sends a signal to the power-off protection circuit with a thermal-shutdown resistor and a turning-off time between 2ms to 5ms to prevent any sudden power-off to the system. The X5163PIZ-2.7A supervisor IC also has an additional wake-up pin that can be used to reset the IC, allowing the system to return to a normal operating state.
