PMIC - Supervisors have become increasingly important as they offer protection against damage caused to electrical components. One such PMIC - Supervisor is the X5165PZ-2.7A.
The X5165PZ-2.7A is an adjustable low-dropout (LDO) regulator that provides a regulated output voltage from an input voltage up to 15V. It is designed for a wide range of applications, from digital systems to industrial control. The X5165PZ-2.7A features a low quiescent current of less than 1.0uA in normal operation and has a very low dropout voltage of around 160mV at 200mA load. This regulator\'s working principle is based on the hysteresis loop control principle. This principle works by supplying an adjustable reference voltage to the voltage error amplifier, which controls an external P-channel MOSFET. When the output voltage decreases below the reference voltage set by the hysteresis loop, the error amplifier turns on the P-channel MOSFET, boosting the output voltage back to the desired level. When the output voltage increases above the reference voltage set by the hysteresis loop, the error amplifier shuts off the P-channel MOSFET, allowing the output voltage to drop back to the desired level.
The X5165PZ-2.7A can be used in a wide variety of applications such as power supplies (DC/DC converters, AC/DC power supplies, and linear regulators), communication systems (telecommunication and mobile systems), computer and peripherals, automotive electronics (telematics, ABS systems, gateway and body computers), audio and visual components (digital cameras, set-top boxes, DVD players), and consumer electronics (smartphones and tablets).
