The XC3S400-5FTG256C is an embedded field programmable gate array (FPGA) designed to meet the needs of high speed and low-power embedded applications. It has on-board DDR2 and DDR3 SDRAM, PCIe, and LED controller, as well as a large number of flexible I/O interfaces. The logic element array configured on the FPGA is sizable, providing an array of four million logic cells. The largest available block RAM is 512Kbits, allowing up to four million bits of configurable embedded RAM. Programmable I/O ports can be configured with up to two hundred eighty eight I/O pins, providing a wide range of possible inputs and outputs. The FPGA runs on the open source Xilinx ISE Webpack, offering full software development and device configuration capabilities. Programmable logic design with VHDL and/ or Verilog is also possible with the FPGA, in addition to bitstream and firmware options.
