The XR79203EVB is a versatile platform for evaluation, prototyping, and design validation of AC/DC and DC/DC Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS). The XR79203EVB includes a wide range of features such as an input voltage range of 6V~40V, high power efficiency of up to 94%, comprehensive protection function, high switching frequency to 500kHz, and wide voltage control range of 0.7V~6V.The XR79203EVB evaluation board uses XR79203 intelligent power module (IPM). It is an optimized SMPS solution which is specifically designed to supply power for intelligent consumer and industrial applications. XR79203IPM is optimized to provide single output voltage with primary side control in either voltage or current mode. The XR79203IPM integrates advanced features such as on-chip primary side control, comprehensive fault protection, current sensing, voltage mode control, leading edge modulation, and overvoltage/overcurrent protection. The XR79203 is packed in a TSOP-7 package with size of 4.5mm x 5.05mm. This board also features several connectors for input/output power and voltage measurements.The XR79203EVB can be configured to operate in either of two modes: voltage ratio mode or voltage mode control. In the voltage ratio mode, the output voltage can be adjusted via a resistor divider network connected to the VSENSE and VREF pins of the XR79203IPM. The voltage mode control allows designers to control the output voltage via the PWM/PFM pin. The board also provides adjustable soft-start, hysteresis, and low-voltage protection.The XR79203EVBs wide range of features, its flexibility, and its ease-of-use make it a great choice for power supply designers.
