Applications

The ZXSC100-EVAL evaluation module is capable of high-performance power conversion up to 200W for both DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS. It is a suitable for many applications, such as isolated DC/DC, PFC Boost, PFC Flyback, PFC Quasi-Resonant converter, PFC Forward, Off-Line Buck, Off-Line Quasi-Resonant converter, Half-Bridge, Full-Bridge, Ring-Boost, SEPIC converter, Flyback converters, etc..

The ZXSC100-EVAL is the perfect solution for designing and developing DC/DC and AC/DC (Offline) SMPS applications for many applications. It is suitable for industrial applications, automotive applications, lighting board applications, and medical equipment applications.

The evaluation board can be used for testing and validation of power conversion performance and characteristics such as accuracy of control, transient response, temperature rise, EMI/RFI suppression, dynamic voltage scaling, dynamic current limit, and fault conditions. It can also be used for characterization and optimization of power converter performance.

Working Principle

The ZXSC100-EVAL evaluation module uses advanced power conversion technology for conversion of AC/DC to DC/DC or vice-versa. It consists of an input stage, DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS and output stage. The inputs can be AC, DC or even mixed AC/DC. The power conversion takes place through a direct conversion process, which involves conversion of AC input voltage into DC output voltage by power conversion topology.

The ZXSC100-EVAL uses an isolated topology for the DC/DC and AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS stages. This means that no direct connection is established between the input and output stages. This helps to prevent the risk of shock or power loss due to shorts or other dirt-induced faults. The power supply voltage can be adjusted to match the voltage of the application by using adjustable potentiometers.

The ZXSC100-EVAL also features a feedback circuit for controlling the voltage and current outputs. This feedback circuit monitors the output voltage and current and compares them with the set reference voltage. If there is a change in either of these parameters, the feedback circuit will adjust the power supply voltage to maintain the required output voltage and current.
