The ZXSC100X8TA is a DC-DC switching controller IC that enables the implementation of a voltage regulator. It is a member of the PMIC (Power Management ICs) voltage regulator family, specifically those that use DC-DC switching controllers. Application Field

Working Principle

The working of the ZXSC100X8TA DC-DC switching controller IC is based on two main phases known as the power-up and the power-down phases. During the power-up phase, the controller drives the Gate of the To-Space power MOSFET, turning on the MOSFET. This causes the input voltage to be present at the output, thus delivering the voltage required by the system. In the power-down phase, the controller cuts the Gate voltage to the MOSFET and shuts off the MOSFET, thus turning off the input voltage to the output.

The controller IC also supports a range of features that improve the voltage conversion efficiency and performance. It includes a power saving mode to reduce switching losses, synchronous rectification for improved efficiency, a burst operating mode for better load power performance and EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) reduction, over voltage protection, under voltage lockout and adjustable soft-start.
