Integrated circuit,abbreviated IC,is a device with a specific function formed by integrating transistors, resistors, capacitors and other components on a silicon chip with a special process,commonly known as chip.

 An integrated circuit can perform certain functions, such as amplifying a signal or storing information. The integrated circuit has the advantages of small size, low power consumption and good stability.

 

An integrated circuit is a key indicator of whether an electronic product is advanced or not. The type of integrated circuits can be divided into analog integrated circuits and digital integrated circuits according to their functions.

Analog integrated circuits include operational amplifiers, power amplifiers, integrated voltage regulator circuits, automatic control integrated circuits and signal processing integrated circuits.

Digital integrated circuits can be divided into bipolar and unipolar circuits according to different structures. Among them, the bipolar circuits are : DTL, TTL, ECL, HTL and so on; unipolar type : JFET, NMOS, PMOS, CMOS four.

 

Second, the package of the integrated circuit

( 1 ) The package of the integrated circuit is provided with a transistor package, a plug-in package and a surface mount package. Typical surface mount type such as transistor shape package, small shape transistor package, small outline package, square flat package, plastic sealed lead chip carrier, etc.

 

( 2 ) The pin arrangement order of the integrated circuit is regular, which is generally viewed from the top of the shell, and the reading is counterclockwise from the lower left corner, in the vicinity of the first foot, there are generally reference signs, such as gaps, pits, slopes, color points and so on.

The general order of the pins is :

1) Notch : a semicircular or square notch at one end of the integrated circuit.

2) Pits, color points or metal sheets : in the corner of the integrated circuit, there is a pit, a color point, or a metal sheet.

3) Bevel, cutting angle : on the corner of the integrated circuit or on the heat sink, there is a bevel cut angle.

4) No identification mark : the entire integrated circuit without any identification mark, generally can be integrated circuit model face to themselves, face up to the model, counterclockwise from left to right is 1, 2, 3....

 

Third, the detection of integrated circuits

1. Including the basic detection methods of integrated circuits online detection and offline detection.

1)On-line detection : measure the DC voltage of each foot of the integrated circuit, compare with the standard value, judge the quality of the integrated circuit.

2)Offline detection : measure the DC resistance between each foot of the integrated circuit, compare with the standard value, judge the quality of the integrated circuit. The measured data are in agreement with the data on the integrated circuit data, and the integrated circuit can be judged to be good.

 

2. Online detection techniques detect the DC voltage of each pin of the integrated circuit on line, so as to prevent a short circuit from sliding between the pins of the integrated circuit, the black pen of the multimeter can be fixedly connected with the " ground " end of the DC voltage by welding a section of copper wire with an insulating layer at the " ground " end, the exposed part of the copper wire is wound on the black watch bar and is placed outside the circuit board to prevent connection to other places on the board. In this way, hold the red watch stick with one hand, find the pin for measuring the integrated circuit, and the other hand can hold the circuit board to ensure that the stylus will not slide.

 

3. IC replacement detection

 When the whole circuit of the integrated circuit fails, the detector often uses the replacement method to detect the integrated circuit. Replacing test with integrated blocks of the same model is one of the quickest test methods. However, it should be noted that if the load short circuit causes the large current to flow through the integrated circuit, it will cause damage, without excluding the short circuit fault, replacing the experiment with the same type of integrated block results in another damage to the integration block. Therefore, the premise of the replacement experiment is to ensure that the load is not short-circuited.
