The nVIDIA chipset + AMDCPU single bridge motherboard architecture is shown in figure 1.

①nVIDIA uses MCP68 or MCP78 Bridge with AM2 940 pin CPU.

 

②AM2 manages DDR2 memory through the HT master bridge with integrated memory controllers within the CPU. *

 

③The nVIDIA single-bridge motherboard is fully managed by the bridge, with the exception of the input / output interface. Such as PCI-E X16 standalone video card slot, sound card chip, Nic chip, PCI-E X1 slot, PCI slot, VGA analog signal interface, DVI digital signal interface, TV interface, USB interface, SATA interface, BIOS.

 

④The bridge manages the IO chip through the LPC bus.

 

⑤IO chip manages input / output interface keyboard, mouse, serial port, parallel port, floppy drive, fan.
