What is the working principle of the phase sensor?

The phase sensor includes two parts, one is the camshaft position sensor, and the other is the crankshaft position sensor. The phase sensor is an important basis for judging when the engine starts to ignite. The phase sensor can be classified according to its structure and waveform, and the phase sensor can be divided into a magnetoelectric phase sensor, a Hall type phase sensor, and a photoelectric phase sensor. This article mainly introduces the working principle of the phase sensor.

Phase sensor working principle

The phase sensor is mainly used to control the ignition timing of the engine. Phase sensors mainly include three types: magnetoelectric phase sensors, Hall-type phase sensors and photoelectric phase sensors.

Magnetoelectric phase sensor is divided into the upper part and the lower part. The upper and lower layers are installed in the distributor respectively. The magnetoelectric phase sensor consists of two parts-the detection coil and the rotor (mainly including the timing rotor and the speed rotor), the rotor will rotate together with the rotation of the distributor shaft. There are many types of gears for timing rotors, such as a timing rotor with one gear, a two-gear and four-gear timing rotor, and a speed rotor with only 24 gears. A permanent magnet induction detection line is fixed inside the magnetoelectric phase sensor. Therefore, its working principle is to survey the position of each crankshaft of the engine cylinder according to the permanent magnet induction detection line and send a signal to the engine. The engine uses this signal to Determine when to ignite.

The Hall-type phase sensor uses the Hall effect to send signals. The Hall signal generator is installed inside the distributor of the phase sensor and is on the same crankshaft as the fire head. There is also a package inside the distributor The Holsing tablets and permanent magnets serve as fixed components. The working principle of the Hall phase sensor is that if the blade on the impeller enters between the permanent magnet and the Hall chip, the Hall trigger will send a voltage signal to the engine, and the engine will judge the ignition time according to the signal.

The photoelectric phase sensor is composed of a signal generator and a signal plate with an optical hole. When the signal plate and the distributor rotate together, the 360 lithographic slits outside the signal plate will generate a 1° signal and send it to The engine, and the six light holes will send a 120 ° signal. The electronic control system calculates when the engine should ignite and where the crankshaft is based on the signal.
