Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are a type of capacitor that use an electrolyte to achieve a larger capacitance than other capacitor types. They are polarized, with two electrodes: the anode, made of a conductive aluminum oxide layer deposited on the surface of an aluminum foil, and the cathode, commonly made of foil of tin with solid or liquid electrolyte in contact with it. Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are widely used in power supplies, signal processing circuits, filtering circuits, pulse circuits and energy storage circuits, especially in signal coupling, decoupling and filtering, as well as in switching power supplies, DC-DC conversion and other power supplies of frequency circuits.
