A 1N735 is a single Zener diode. It is a two lead component that, when conducting, drops the same voltage regardless of the current draw. This makes them ideal for protecting circuits against voltage spikes and regulating voltages. For example, in a circuit, the diodes can protect the components from becoming damaged when an over-voltage event occurs, ensuring the connected components remain safe.

First and foremost, a 1n735 is designed to provide protection from over-voltage.
