Aluminum electrolytic capacitors, also called “electrolytic caps”, are electrical components made of two or more layers of metal foil separated by a flat metal oxide layer and impregnated with electrolyte. This type of capacitor is commonly used in electrical and electronics applications due to its high capacitance, low equivalent series resistance (ESR) and long life expectancy.
