A bridge rectifier is an electrical circuit consisting of four diodes in a closed loop configuration. The purpose of the bridge rectifier is to convert alternating current into direct current by convert any two of the inputs into a single output. This bridge rectifier is mainly used in power inverters, switched mode power supplies, battery chargers, DC motor drives and other AC-DC conversion applications. The 2KBP01-BP has a low forward voltage drop of 1.1V (at 25A FR) which improve the switching speed. The built-in surge current protection also allows for overvoltage protection.
The working principle of the 2KBP01-BP is to use two input voltage signals to obtain a unidirectional output voltage by connecting the two input signals together. First, the two input signals are connected to a bridge of four diodes. Then, one voltage signal is applied to the Anode of two diodes and the other voltage is applied to the Cathode of the other two diodes. If a positive voltage is applied on one side of the bridge and a negative voltage is applied on the other side of the bridge, then the bridge will cause the two input voltages to be combined into one single unidirectional output voltage.
The 2KBP01-BP consists of four diodes which provides equal protection to both input voltages. The diodes in the bridge also work to provide a very low forward voltage drop, thus allowing for a higher efficiency in the output power. Furthermore, the built-in surge current protection provides a measure of electrical safety, while the wide applicable temperature range allows the bridge rectifier to work in extreme conditions.
