Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors
Aluminum electrolytic capacitors belong to the family of electrolytic capacitors. They are polarized and have an incredibly high capacitance for their size. Another application in which aluminum electrolytic capacitors are commonly used is decoupling. Decoupling capacitors are typically placed near an integrated circuit or a piece of active electronic components to suppress noise and provide voltage filtering. This type of capacitor can also be used in switching power supplies to reduce the switching noise.Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are also used to provide timing for a device\'s speed of operation. They can be used as timing elements in mobile phones, computer motherboards, and other electronic devices.
