Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

An aluminum electrolytic capacitor is an electronic component primarily used in electric circuits for signal buffering, power filtering and energy storage. It is constructed with two aluminum plates possessing conducting oxide layers with a spacer between them. This separates an electrolyte solution that provides the necessary current for capacitor operation. In motor controls, they are used to start motors, to regulate motor speed and to regulate EMI (electromagnetic interference).
