Working Principle of AD574ALD
The AD574ALD is a 8-bit monolithic CMOS analog-to-digital converter. It features a high sampling rate, low power consumption and high accuracy. Its design includes an 8-bit successive approximation register (SAR) with two 8-bit comparator blocks and two 4-bit DACs. The SAR algorithm starts with the compare voltage in the first comparator set to the maximum value. The output of the comparator sets the MSB of the output register. The DACs then adjust the voltage to the middle level of the maximum and minimum range of the first comparator. The output of the comparator sets the second bit of the output register. Then, the DACs adjust the voltage to the quarter of the maximum and minimum range of the first comparator, and so on. This process is continued until the 8th bit of the output register is calculated.
