PMIC (Power Management integrated Circuits) play an important role in providing power to a range of electronic devices. In particular, supervisors are integrated circuits which monitor power-supply levels and provide necessary fail-safe protection to prevent shutdown due to an undervoltage or overvoltage condition. As such, they are ideal for embedded systems and severe working conditions where external voltage regulators or voltage sources are unavailable.

ADM691ARZ-REEL is a supervisor component from Analog Devices and belongs to the SOT-23-6 package family. It is a two-channel supervisor meant for reset and power-on-reset (POR) functions and has an operating temperature range between -40℃ and +85℃.

In order to ensure that the ADM691ARZ-REEL is working properly, a pull-up resistance is connected to RESET output. The pull-up resistor causes the voltage at RESET to drop below 1V, which signals the microcontroller that it is time to reset the system.

The ADM691ARZ-REEL also features an adjustable reset time-delay, which is determined by the external capacitor connected to the component.
