ADM811TART-REEL7

The ADM811TART-REEL7 is a supervisory device for use in battery-backed and remote systems. It can inform the system processor that the power source has been disconnected, allowing the system to take appropriate action. In addition, the device monitors the power status of the system, transmitting a reset pulse if the battery voltage has dropped below a preset threshold. For complete system protection, a watchdog timer circuit uses complementary watchdogs in both the microcontroller and the supervisor to reset the system in case of a non-responsive system.

The ADM811TART-REEL7 is a low-power device with a quiescent current of less than 1.2µA, making it ideal for applications such as cell phones, notebooks, PDAs and other portable devices where contributing to battery longevity is important. The device is available in a space-saving 8-pin discontinued narrow body (DN) package, and operates over a wide temperature range from -40 to +85°C.

The ADM811TART-REEL7 features an adjustable monitoring of system power sources for three voltage rails: VCC, VDD, and VD, which can be user-configured between 2.1 and 6.3V. The device monitors VCC and VDD for either a single or dual-supply input, making it suitable for most single and dual-power-supply applications. In addition, the ADM811TART-REEL7 can be used in conjunction with a PMIC (Power Management ICs) to provide the reset pulses necessary to reset the system when power fails.

The ADM811TART-REEL7 is an excellent choice for applications using dual power supplies due to its low-voltage shutdown (LVSD) circuit. This circuit shuts off power to the system when one of the two power supplies fails. The end of reset (EOR) timer prevents system reset loops, making the device suitable for fault-tolerant applications.
