ADS5463IPFP is a 16-bit, high speed and low noise, low power analog-to-digital converter (ADC) designed for data acquisition applications. It uses a pipelined architecture with a single step serial interface, multiple power supply options and comprehensive signal chain filtering for optimal performance. Its low power consumption, integrated signal chain filtering, extended analog input range, small footprint and high speed make it ideal for a wide range of applications including medical imaging, instrumentation, communications and industrial automation.

ADS5463IPFP consists of a differential signal chain filter (DCF), analog-to-digital conversion, a track and hold amplifier, and an internal voltage reference. The DCF eliminates power supply noise, improves dynamic range, reduces settling time and maintains high signal-to-noise ratio. The track and hold amplifier samples the input signal and holds it for conversion. The internal voltage reference keeps the conversion results accurate and consistent. The ADC produces 16-bit digital data which is output via a single serial interface.

For optimum performance, ADS5463IPFP should be operated with a power supply of 5V and the analog input common mode voltage should be set to 2.5V. The input voltage range (single-ended) is -0.6V to 3.7V. The converter output data rate can reach up to 400 MS/s and is capable of operating at up to 1GS/s with a clock input of 1.2GHz. Depending on the application, the converter can be operated in single-ended or differential mode, depending on the gain setting of the track and hold amplifier. Additionally, the converter supports several types of demuxing, including 4x, 8x, 16x and 32x demuxing.
