ADUCM360BCPZ128-R7 Application Field and Working Principle
The ADUCM360BCPZ128-R7 by Analog Devices is an ultra-low-power, high-performance 32-bit ARM Cortex M3 based embedded microcontroller integrated with a 12-bit 4 MS/s SAR ADC, 4 timers, and an 8 output GPIO with up to 24 I/O available. This microcontroller is an ideal solution for embedded projects with highly power constrained design.
Application Field
ADUCM360BCPZ128-R7 is suitable for deeply embedded control applications such as digital power supplies, medical devices, smart metering, industrial 3D encoders, battery management, security alarms or automotive electronics.
The embedded microcontroller offers extensive features and on-chip resources for efficient design such as an extensive peripheral library including LCD, capacitive touch sensing, integrated temperature sensor and SPI serial communications. The device is operable from a supply voltage range of 2.3-3.6V, with a wide temperature range of -40 to +85°C.
Working Principle
An ARM Cortex-M3 processor core is integrated into the ADUCM360BCPZ128-R7. This is a 32-bit processor with a top speed of 75MHz, featuring a five-way branch predictor, and a 4-stage instruction pipeline architecture in addition to 10 interrupt channels and 5 microcode exceptions.
The microcontroller also includes on-chip Flash memory of up to 512KB with ECC and power-down mode that helps preserve code and data between power cycles. 256KB of on-chip RAM is also included to support storage and data manipulation.
The device incorporates a dedicated digital audio block (DAB) for product audio generation or processing. The DAB offers a pulse-density modulation (PDM) processor, a MAS audio support module, a high-performance digital filter, and a programming engine to encode/decode audio samples from PCM and MIDI formats.
The integrated analog blocks include a 12-bit SAR ADC with 4 MS/sSampling rate, an oscillator circuit with 10ppm accuracy, a battery-backed real-time clock, a voltage monitor to measure battery voltage, and a low power system clock.
The device also includes an embedded sensor with a gyroscope, accelerometer and a magnetometer. The device also offers an 8-OUTPUT GPIO with interrupts and up to 24 I/O are available, with an integrated temperature sensor, capacitive touch sensing and LCD controller.
