Working Principle of the AFC226M50E16T-F Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

The AFC226M50E16T-F aluminum electrolytic capacitors work on the principle of electrolytic capacitors, where an electrolyte solution in between two metal plates, one acts as anode and other as cathode, which are separated by a very thin dielectric oxide film. This dielectric film acts as a barrier between the two plates and does not allow electric current to flow through it.

When a voltage is applied, electric current flows into the positive plate, or anode, and out of the negative plate, or cathode. This in turn forms electric charge on the capacitor plates. The greater the voltage, the higher the electric charge, and thus the greater the capacitance. As the capacitance increases, the capacitor can store more energy.

The AFC226M50E16T-F Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors can also be used as a filter to reduce noise and ripple. It works by allowing the steady DC voltage to pass through the capacitor while filtering out any high-frequency noise.
