The AHA108M10G24T-F is an Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor with a capacitance of 108mF, 10V rated voltage, and 24mm in diameter. The AHA108M10G24T-F is composed of three main parts: an aluminum case, spiral aluminum foil, and adhesive paper. Inside the aluminum case, a screw-down construction holds the electrode and a rolled sheet of aluminum is used as the cathode. This construction is called the “self-healing” characteristic, as an open circuit in the cathode due to a short circuit is instantly healed and the capacitor can continue working. The foil is dipped in electrolyte solution to increase its conductivity. Pressure on the terminals and the case then seals the capacitor.
The AHA108M10G24T-F has two terminals, the anode and the cathode. The anode is connected to a positive voltage source while the cathode is connected to a negative voltage source. When a direct current passes through, electrons flow from the anode to the cathode plate and through the electrolyte solution, causing a nano-scale layer of oxide ions to form on the cathode plate. These ions attract and hold the charge, allowing energy to be stored within the capacitor.
