AN8007M-E1

AN8007M-E1 belongs to the Linear PMIC (Power Management IC) voltage regulators’ branch. It is designed as a full-featured integrated power solution for managing multiple supply rails in a variety of system platforms, such as computing systems, server systems and embedded systems.

Application Fields

AN8007M-E1 is a triple output linear regulator IC with wide input voltage range, allowing it to be used in a variety of system platforms. It can be applied in high-performance computing application where multi-stage voltage regulation is required to meet the demands of high-load and high-performance processors, ASICs and FPGAs, and also in communication application such as WLAN/LTE base station network systems.

AN8007M-E1 also provides wide operating temperature range capability, which is designed to make sure the regulator operates reliably in the industrial, networking and communication applications. This linear regulator is available in the industry-standard 34-pin, 6.5mm × 6.5mm QFN package, which can take up very little PCB area, making it perfect for space-constrained embedded applications.

Working Principle

The AN8007M-E1 is designed to step down and regulate an input voltage to three output voltage requirements. A high power-supply rejection ratio (PSRR) over a wide input voltage range helps to provide a stable, clean output voltage. The outputs are regulated by an error amplifier, simple external components such as resistors and capacitors, and a stable ferrite-bead inductor. The selection of options and combinations of external components makes AN8007M-E1 a very versatile linear regulator solution.

At power-on, the output voltage is regulated by the voltage setting resistor, and then feedback to the error amplifier. When the error amplifier detects a difference between the error amplifier output voltage and a reference voltage of 2.5V, an error signal will be applied to the compensation network. This adjusts the output voltage to maintain the desired output voltage. When power is lost to the AN8007M-E1, an internal shutdown regulator (SHUTDOWN#) still provides the output voltage to ensure that the output supplies remain active and regulated during power-on/off activities like entering sleep or hibernate.
