The AN8011S-E1V is an ideal DC/DC step-down switching ripple suppression circuit with low noise, low EMI, high efficiency, good heat dissipation and small size. This circuit employs a High Voltage MOSFET topology to achieve high efficiency and fast transient response that is suitable for power management applications. It eliminates the usage of a separate LDO for high voltage input voltage regulation and improves the overall system EMI.

The AN8011S-E1V is designed to drive a single High Voltage MOSFET and is optimized to provide highest efficiency and lowest cost for low power systems. It incorporates a peak current mode controller, adjustable soft start circuit, shut down control, Power Good logic and thermal shutdown protection. By selecting the output voltage and switching frequency, the AN8011S-E1V achieves a wide variety of low power levels.

The AN8011S-E1V has many features that make it suitable for applications such as home audio, networking, motor control, display backlighting, consumer electronics, and hand-held devices. Its advanced features include:

The AN8011S-E1V utilizes a voltage-mode control architecture to accurately regulate the output voltage of the switching regulator. In this topology, the controller monitors the output voltage through the feedback loop and compares it to the internal voltage reference. A difference in voltage is then used to adjust the duty cycle to regulate the output voltage. When the output voltage deviates from its target value, the controller adjusts the duty cycle of the MOSFET switch. This method, called "voltage-mode control", is the most common control architecture used in DC-DC switching regulators.

The current limit protection circuit of the AN8011S-E1V employs a programmable average current limit. This protection limits the current to the DC-DC converter and prevents the converter from being overloaded. The average current limit is set by connecting a resistor from the CS pin to ground, and varying the resistor value as needed for the application.

The AN8011S-E1V also includes a built-in Soft Start circuit. This circuit gradually increases the duty cycle of the converter from its initial value of zero to its final steady-state value. This ensures that the converter does not come up too fast, reducing the current inrush and preventing overloading of the power supply.

The AN8011S-E1V employs a shutdown circuit that controls the flow of current to the power MOSFET. When the shutdown signal is high, the shut down switch turns off and the DC-DC converter is disabled.
