Working Principle
The AN8045M-E1 uses an internal pass element, which is a voltage reference network and an error amplifier, to provide the desired output voltage. The output voltage is set by a divider network of external resistors. The voltage applied to the input pin is regulated to the desired output voltage. The voltage reference network provides a constant voltage reference to the error amplifier. The error amplifier compares its reference voltage with the output voltage. The output of the error amplifier drives the input of the P-channel power mosfet, which is series connected to the load. When the output voltage deviates from the desired output voltage, the error amplifier controls the gate voltage of the power mosfet in such a way as to drive the output voltage to the desired level. This provides a low impedance path for the current flow to the Load and provides the necessary regulation.
