AO4932 is a type of advanced transistors called FETs (Field Effect Transistors), or simply FETs. FETs are an important part of modern electronics and they have numerous applications in various fields. AO4932 is a power MOSFET array that is especially suitable for automotive applications such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) and vehicle security systems.
AO4932 is composed of four independent source- and gate-driven, integrated P-channel depletion mode MOSFETs (PMOS) in a single small package. It features low on-resistance, wide voltage range and improved current handling capabilities, making it ideal for automotive applications where protection, safety and reliability are essential.
AO4932 works by controlling the flow of electrical current through its four PMOS transistors. The transistors can either be “ON” or “OFF” depending on the input signals. The transistors are arranged into pairs, with each pair having a source connected to a gate. When an input signal is applied to the gate, a voltage is induced across the source and gate, which opens the transistor and allows current to flow. When the input signal is removed, the transistor closes and no current can flow.
AO4932 can also be configured in a “stacked” configuration, where the four PMOS transistors are arranged in a vertical column. In this configuration, the four transistors can be connected to provide up to four distinctly different voltage (VDS) outputs when activated. This configuration is ideal for automotive applications such as adaptive light control, Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communications and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).
