AP130-35RG-7 Application Field and Working Principle

AP130-35RG-7 is a high-performance linear regulator with a wide voltage range of 1.2V to 30V. It is suitable for powering an increasingly complex variety of devices in both consumer and industrial markets including automotive, medical and telecom applications.The AP130-35RG-7 is a linear voltage regulator which can provide switch mode or adjustable output voltage or current. Its input voltage range is from 3.2V to 30V. The maximum output voltage can reach 35V; the output current can reach 1.3A. In addition, it uses a Low-Dropout (LDO) technology to ensure the low input-output voltage difference. It also features advanced protection configuration, such as over temperature protection, over current protection, over voltage protection, etc.This device has a low operating temperature and a low quiescent current which enable it to work more efficiently even in extreme temperatures. It is also designed to ensure higher stability and reliability. Moreover, its low noise level and low voltage ripple makes it ideal for a wide range of applications.The AP130-35RG-7 regulates output voltage through a series of switches. The voltage at the input is identified by an on-chip voltage reference, the voltage feedback comparator. This voltage reference is compared with feedback voltage from the output of the regulator. If the output voltage is low , the switch will energize and send current from the input to the output of the regulator, raising the output voltage and then the catch diode connects to the switch allowing the voltage to increase until the input voltage is equal to the reference voltage.The AP130-35RG-7 also has a wide input range overvoltage protection; when the input voltage exceed the rated voltage, the switch can disconnect the power supply automatically, thus the output voltage is kept at the regular level. The over-current protection will protect the device when the load current suddenly increase; the over temperature protection will shut down the input voltages when the IC reaches a certain temperature.The AP130-35RG-7 is an integrated voltage regulator with wide input range, adjustable output voltage and current, high output power and temperature performance.
