AP139-30WG-7 is an integrated linear voltage regulator, classified under PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit) - Voltage Regulators - Linear. The reference voltage of AP139-30WG-7 is temperature compensated and is set at 0.805V by its external resistors. This will ensure that the actual output voltage is in line with the set output voltage, regardless of temperature variations. Besides temperature compensated voltage, the other protection features of AP139-30WG-7 include short-circuit protection, over-current protection, and under-voltage lock-out. When the output voltage is shorted, the device will protect itself from thermal runaway by reducing the base current of the pass element. It will then reduce the output current to a certain safe value. Similarly, an over-current protection circuit is also included in this IC to protect itself from excessive current. Lastly, the Under-voltage Lockout feature will prevent the IC from functioning if the input voltage is below its specified minimum operating voltage of 2.7V. Outfitted with such protection features AP139-30WG-7 makes the task of regulating voltage much simpler.
