AP139-25WL-7 Application Field and Working Principle

The AP139-25WL-7 is a linear PMIC – Volt Regulators. It is an integrated 800mA low dropout voltage regulator which enables the device to provide a low noise, stable voltage output. It also features a wide ultra-low quiescent current range through its pulse-frequency modulation (PFM).

Working Principle

When the load current is light, the regulator is set to operate in a series of brief pulses, thus maintaining the output voltage while minimizing power wastage. Once the load current increases, the regulator transitions to CCM mode, providing a continuous current to the load.

The AP139-25WL-7 is equipped with short-circuit protection, power limitation and thermal protection. Its short-circuit protection prevents the output from reaching dangerous levels should an unexpected short occur.
