AP7311-33WG-7 is a low quiescent-current, low dropout linear regulator manufactured by Anpec Electronics Corporation. It is designed in a space-saving SOT-23 package. AP7311-33WG-7 offers 600mA output current and low temperature drift of typically 0.05%/°C. It operates with an input voltage range of 1.3V to 6V, and adjusts its output to a voltage as low as 0.8V with excellent regulation performance.
Its high output current, low input voltage range and high output accuracy make this linear regulator ideal for many different applications where very precise control of voltage is required, such as automotive electronics, consumer electronics, industrial electronics, and medical instrumentation.AP7311-33WG-7 features a PFM Green Switching Mode Control system to maintain excellent line and load regulation performance. This mode not only reduces the power consumption of the regulator, but also minimizes the thermal dissipation, resulting in excellent thermal performance. In addition, AP7311-33WG-7 features an active discharge circuit, allowing the output of the regulator to be quickly discharged if necessary, such as during shutdown.
AP7311-33WG-7 utilizes a N-channel MOSFET, which is used as a switch in the linear regulator. This switch allows the voltage regulator to control the output voltage by regulating the current passing through the regulator. In addition to controlling the output voltage, the N-channel MOSFET also provides protection against overvoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature in the voltage regulator. The N-channel MOSFET is also used to improve the transient response of the linear regulator, as it is able to quickly react to changes in the output voltage.
The other main component of the AP7311-33WG-7 is the pass transistor, which is used to regulate the amount of current passing through the regulator. This transistor consists of a source, a drain and a gate. When a voltage is applied to the gate, the current passing through the transistor is adjusted to provide the required output voltage. AP7311-33WG-7 has been designed to provide high efficient, fast and robust regulation performance with noise-free operation.
AP7311-33WG-7 is able to accurately maintain its output voltage with excellent line and load regulation. The output voltage is controlled by adjusting the gate voltage of the pass transistor, which is done through the control loop of the voltage regulator.
