AS7261 Demo kit is a complete evaluation kit for integrated color sensing applications. It includes the AS7261 spectral sensor module, a solderable breakout board and an Arduino-compatible shield. The shield provides a Grove compatible connector for easy connection to Arduino, Raspberry Pi or other compatible MCU boards. The AS7261 evaluation kit also includes a comprehensive software library and example programs to make it easy to develop with this evaluation board.

AS7261 is a low power, programmable, tri-stimulus (R/G/B) color sensor that can be used in lighting control, ambient light sensing, color detection, and color matching applications. It features a wide range of spectral spectrum sensing (380-760nm) with high accuracy, high sensitivity, low power and multi-channel integration that make it ideal for use in a wide range of applications. The integrated AS7261 board also features an integrated temperature compensation, integrated color compensation, and integrated ID triggering with flexible timing options.

The AS7261 broadly categorised into three different optical channels, the red channel, the green channel and the blue channel. By combining these three channels, the user can obtain the full spectrum of colour data. The integrated channels work in tandem, with each channel individually calibrated to accurately measure the colour across the entire visual spectrum. This data can then be used to determine the colour, luminance, and saturation of the measured material.

The AS7261 demo kit is an open platform development board. It uses the AS7261 evaluation module as the main learning and evaluation platform. The AS7261 module consists of the latest programmable AS7261 spectral colour sensor, an integrated breakout board,along with voltage regulators, I2C connectors and a few other components. The evaluation board also includes a set of example code to help users start testing it in a range of applications.

The demo kit is designed to operate with an Arduino shield for Arduino Nano boards. It provides MCP79200 temperature compensation, ID triggering, a Grove compatible connector for easy connection to Arduino, Raspberry Pi or other compatible MCU boards, and USB connections. Users can develop custom applications by programming the demo kit either using the Arduino IDE or PlatformIO. The demo kit also includes complete library and example code for operation with imbeded systems.
