AS7225-BLGM is an ambient light, infrared (IR) and ultraviolet (UV) sensor which is mainly used in lighting and home automation applications. The device is also suitable for monitoring lighting conditions in industrial and commercial applications. It also provides a wide measurement range, making it suitable for a variety of applications. Additionally, AS7225-BLGM is a 3-in-1 sensor that supports sensing of three different wavelengths (UVA, UVB and IR) of light.

The AS7225-BLGM is an integrated system-on-chip which contains an optocoupler, LED, integrated light sensor and advanced optical filters. The sensor has three integrated light sensing elements which measure the intensity of light at three different wavelengths: UVA, UVB and IR. The device also includes a temperature compensator to provide accurate measurement of light intensity at different operating temperatures. The ASIC contains two separate sensing elements, UVA and UVB which measure UVA and UVB light intensity, while the IR channel measures IR light.

The AS7225-BLGM provides the flexibility to configure the ambient light level, use a single or multiple light sources, as well as software configures gains for each channel, and the device can also detect a wide range of light levels and sources. The device is designed to operate reliably in a wide range of environmental conditions including high temperature operating ranges. Furthermore, the device uses a proprietary heat dissipating structure which minimizes maximum operating temperature and further extends the working distance between the light source and device.

The AS7225-BLGM provides accurate real-time data on ambient light conditions. The device is designed to measure a wide range of environmental lighting conditions from 0 lx to 24,000 lx with sensitivity range from 0 lx to 1,000 lx. It can also detect a variety of light sources including natural sunlight, ambient light and other sources such as LED lights.
