AT24C01C-CUM-T is a 2K-bit Serial Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM). It enables both random and sequential access together with highly reliable data retention. Working Principle of AT24C01C-CUM-T
The AT24C01C-CUM-T device provides an access method that enables random or sequential data access. It contains 256 words of 8 bits, organized as 16 pages of 8 Words each. The device also has 3 control pins that are connected to VCC, GND and SDA (Serial Data).
The device can operate in a single-byte or multi-byte mode. In single-byte mode, the device can write or read one byte of data at a time. The device will automatically address the following byte after each write or read instruction is issued. This process continues until the end of the page or until a Stop condition is issued.
In multi-byte mode, the device can write or read multiple bytes of data at a time in a specified page address. All bytes to be written or read must be within the same page; otherwise, the device will return an error code. A proper number of Stop conditions must be issued to terminate the read or write sequences.
The AT24C01C-CUM-T is also equipped with an Advanced Write Protection System which enables the device to protect the entire memory or specific addresses within the memory. This helps to prevent data corruption and unauthorized access.
