Introduction to AT24C08C-CUM-T

AT24C08C-CUM-T is an 8K-by-8-bit CMOS Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM). It is capable of storing 8K-Bytes of data, making it suitable for applications such as system configuration, factory and user profiling, and parameter storage. Its design comprises an array of 1024×8 cells, organized in a two-wire Serial Interface, which allows data transmission at speeds up to 100kHz.

Application Field

Working Principle

The AT24C08C-CUM-T works on a two-wire Serial Interface protocol and has a standby current of 1µA and an active current of 10mA. The device also has an internally generated 8-bit system address, which allows it to be used with up to 255 slave devices on the same two-wire bus. The write cycle is less than 10µs and the read cycle is less than 200µs.The AT24C08C-CUM-T uses bytes or pages for data storage. A byte consists of 8 bits and can be written in less than 10µs. The memory is also organized into 8 pages. This allows up to 256 bytes to be written/read from within a single page without individual byte addressing. This increases the speed of programming and data retrieval.The AT24C08C-CUM-T has an internal self-timer for write operations, which allows delays up to 10µs between successive writes. This prevents writes from taking place too quickly and avoids any errors. The AT24C08C-CUM-T also features a system write-protect pin, which can be used to disable all write operations.
