They are a type of capacitors that are constructed out of an anode composed of aluminum, with an oxide barrier layer, and two or more electrolytes providing the electrodes. While traditional electrolytic capacitors typically use electrolyte liquid, aluminum electrolytic capacitors are often constructed with solid or gel electrolyte, allowing for a more reliable structure and better temperature stability, compared to liquid electrolyte capacitors.
