The main components of aluminum electrolytic capacitors are electrolytic paper (or aluminum foil), electrolyte, Aluminum foil, and dielectric (oxide film). The working principle of aluminum electrolytic capacitors is mainly based on the principle of electrolysis. In the aluminum electrolytic capacitors, there is no polarized dielectric material, so it can form a very large electric field when the voltage on the electrochemical capacitors exceeds a certain value. When voltage is applied on the outer electrodes of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor, the Aluminum foil which acts as the anode of capacitor will pass an electron current till the decreased voltage is localized at the interface between aluminum oxide and electrolyte when the current is suddenly changed to zero. After that, with the help of the DC bias, a thin layer of aluminium oxide dielectric will be formed at the interface. Then the capacitor can be used as a normal Electrode.
