The BAS521LPQ-7B is a single, high-current, high-voltage low-loss, rectifier diode with a maximum peak reverse voltage of200V. It has a rated average forward current of 5A and a maximum non-repetitive surge peak current of 80A for a half-sine waveform. The diode is constructed from a high-performance encapsulated encapsulation material with integrated heat-distribution, and a breakdown voltage of 250V. Its low forward voltage drop of only 0.55 V is one of the features of this diode.
BAS521LPQ-7B operates with a very low junction-to-terminal capacitance and has an operating forward voltage of 0.22V. It also has a very low reverse recovery time of only 2µs, enabling the diode to be used in high frequency applications, making it an ideal choice for high speed rectification in motor drive applications. The diode also offers a very low thermal resistance. This allows the diode to dissipate heat quickly and safely.
The working principle of the BAS521LPQ-7B is to allow the current to flow in one direction only by providing a low resistance path for the current when forward biased and a high resistance path when reverse biased.
