BFT92,215, also known as high-frequency field effect transistor (FET), is specially designed for radio frequency (RF) applications such as short distance radio transmitter and receiver radio. It features a planar epitaxial diode, a small junction capacitance, low leakage current, excellent power gain volume and wide working frequency range. Besides, this transistor can be used for analog or digital operation which makes it a highly efficient device for radio frequency applications.

This FET is a two-terminal device made up of two p-doped regions and one n-doped region. The n-doped region forms the channel, while the two p-doped regions form the source and the drain. There is an additional gate electrode between the source and the drain, and this is where the control of the device is applied. When a voltage is applied to the gate, the electrons in the channel and the holes in the source and drain become mobile and move, thus forming a conductive channel between the source and the drain.

The working principle of BFT92,215 is based on the principle of field effect in semiconductors. In the absence of the applied gate voltage, the number of free electrons in the channel is restricted, resulting in a very high reverse bias resistance. When the gate voltage is increased, the number of mobile electrons increases, resulting in increased current flow across the channel. This action results in amplification or attenuation at the output, depending on the magnitude of the gate voltage.
