In linear charge mode, the device will allow for the charging of the battery in a linear fashion by increasing or decreasing the charge current through the battery, while taking into account the over voltage and over temperature safety or protection features.The Charge Pump Mode, on the other hand, is when the battery is charged by a pulse width modulated mode, with the option of creating preconditioning cycles, where a standby power level is maintained.
