The BZS55C27 RXG diode has two terminals, an anode and a cathode. It operates on a principle called the Zener Breakdown, which is a unique property of diodes. The BZS55C27 RXG diode has a breakdown voltage (Vz) which is the reverse voltage at which the diode starts to conduct. When the forward voltage and current applied to the anode and cathode of the diode exceeds the maximum rating, the diode begins to conduct in the reverse bias direction. The energy developed in this reverse bias condition transforms into electrical energy instead of dissipating in heat. This electrical energy does not exceed the breakdown voltage and hence is known as “Zener Breakdown.” This characteristic of a diode helps in clamping or regulating the voltage applied to a circuit.The BZS55C27 RXG diode has a high reverse voltage and low reverse leakage current, which helps to maintain a constant voltage level in the circuit for better performance. It also has a low capacitance, which helps to minimize noise and other distortions.
