Working Principle

The C391PD is a 4-pin, gate-activated SCR. It is constructed from a P-type silicon material with a N-type gate. The C391PD also has an LED indicator which allows for visual confirmation of SCR switching and voltage status. This holding current helps to ensure that the SCR does not turn off when it should not - for instance, due to a surge in current or voltage.
