CC1310F64RSMT Application Field and Working Principle

The CC1310F64RSMT is a member of the SimpleLink™ family of standards-based wireless microcontroller (MCU) platforms. It is an advanced, low-power, true system-on-chip (SoC) designed for 802.15.4, ZigBee and 6LoWPAN, RF4CE, RFID, and other usage models. The CC1310F64RSMT combines a high performance, ultra-low power RF transceiver and an enhanced microcontroller subsystem into an integrated system with a range of peripherals for developing RF applications.

Working Principle

The CC1310F64RSMT communicates via radio waves using its integrated RF transceiver. It supports the IEEE 802.15.4 specification, which works by transmitting short packets of data over short distances (up to 25 m indoor or 550 m outdoor for 125 kHz channels) in a synchronized, time-slotted manner. The CC1310F64RSMT provides the full range of IEEE 802.15.4 radio performance, including multiple configurations of 2.4 GHz 802.15.4-2006 to enable use with existing wireless mesh networks.

The CC1310F64RSMT has an on-board power amplifier and low noise amplifier that boosts the low-power radio signals, and an on-board running clock generator for accurate timing. It also has an on-board low-power CMOS logic devices that control the RX/TX operation, power management, MCU sleep control and timer usage. Its RX/TX power amplifier allows for optimized power consumption, and the combination of the RX/TX circuitry, the MCU, and the external components enables low power application design.
