CDLL4109D is a type of Zener diode which is used to control static and dynamic voltage fluctuations of analog and digital circuits, operating at power of up to 125mW. As a member of Diodes - Zener - Single family, CDLL4109D package is designed in house to exactly fit and replace a regular housing function. It has a 3-lead configuration, with the lead connected to a VCC of 3.0 V to 6.3 V and an EN option to enable or disable the diode when different power supply or voltages are used. Depending on what the application and customer require, CDLL4109D is offered in SOT-23 package, which can find minor applications in Mobile phone and tablet.

The working principle of CDLL4109D is as follows. When a power supply is applied, the electric current flows through the diode and due to the rectifying action of the diode, the voltage across it is modified and the total voltage is equal to the sum of voltage across diode and the power supply. Therefore, in order to increase the voltage across the diode, the power supply voltage needs to be increased. In the case of the CDLL4109D, when the power supply connected to it raises to a certain point, the breakdown voltage of the diode is exceeded and the further increase of the voltage does not significantly increase the voltage across the diode. This way, the current flow across the diode is reduced as there is a threshold and the voltage is regulated. This process makes sure that a definite output voltage is maintained and fluctuations are minimised.
