CDLL4122 Application Field and Working Principle
CDLL4122 is a single Zener diode. It is used in many electronic applications that rely on the Zener behavior of a diode, such as voltage regulators, clippers and clampers, ESD protection, and even computer clock generators. CDLL4122 has a rated breakdown voltage of 4.1V, a maximum power dissipation of 191mW, and a maximum reverse current of 150uA.Voltage Regulator Circuits
Voltage regulator circuits use the Zener diode to regulate the voltage when a load is applied to a power source. The Zener diode is placed in a circuit with an oscillator and a feedback capacitor, C1, and when the voltage reaches the breakdown voltage, the oscillator stops and the capacitor is discharged. The cycle then starts again and the output signal is a clock signal.Working Principle

This is because of the narrow depletion layer that is present in the diode.
